I am forever in awe of what our planet will yield.  I am enamored by the color, saturation, pattern and texture that is naturally created when mineral or bone is paired with water, heat and pressure.   As a kid I remember collecting rocks in the driveway and anything found with a little sparkle or interesting pattern was added to the treasure box to be examined later.  My love of rocks was nurtured by my community and when I went away to school, working with rocks like basalt or agate was my connection to home.  Smithing became the medium with which I could play with those rocks and honor the art the earth makes.   My work focuses on simplicity and quality of design, using the metal to enhance the stone and to create pieces of art that can be treasured forever.
